Cabochon Dome
A deep collar rises around a high-domed cabochon, the wall following the curve of the stone with its top edge level, so the dome sits proud of the metal.
Cut and setting belong together here. Fire agate and other phenomenal material is cut as a cabochon because the effect lives on the curved surface, and a faceted mount would fight it.
