A small stone set flush into the centre of a broad satin gold disc. The disc is die-struck and hollow-backed, substantial in silhouette without being a mass of metal.
The answer for a stone under a carat. The disc gives it presence that the stone alone cannot carry, and it is the one piece in the collection where the gold, not the gem, is doing the work.
