Chromium makes emerald green, and it also makes it glow faintly red under ultraviolet light, a fluorescence that iron quietly smothers. Colombian ground carries very little iron, which is a large part of why its emeralds seem to glow rather than merely show a colour. An intense green, and awake with it. Set in a ring or hung as a pendant, it keeps its own light.
