The sheen in moonstone is not colour. Two feldspars unmixed as the crystal cooled and left microscopic layers behind, and what you see moving is light scattering between them. The body itself is colourless — everything in it is that. Cut as a sugarloaf so the dome gathers the sheen into a single band.
