Burmese miners call a spinel crystal that comes out of the gravel with its faces still bright nat thwe, polished by the spirits.
The crystal grows its own flat, glassy faces in the marble, and when they survive the journey they look as if a cutter had already been at work. This stone is from Burma, where the name was coined.
