The glitter sunstone is known for has its own name, aventurescence, borrowed from aventurine glass, which Venetian glassmakers are said to have first made by chance, a ventura. In the stone it comes from tiny flat platelets lying parallel inside the feldspar and catching light together. This one is reddish orange: look into the centre, where the red gathers, and then out towards the rim, where it lifts to orange.
